The outline of different types of Recovering Equipment

The development of advanced recycling techniques and equipment has helped to reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing. It has also helped with waste management by reducing the need for landfills. The variety of materials that can now be recycled has resulted in the development of many different types of recycling equipment. Most can handle more than one type of material. The different types of equipment can be used independently or in tandem with other machines.

Balers
A baler is one of the most common pieces of recycling equipment in use today. They are commonly found in large processing facilities as well as in retail establishments and warehouses. A baler contains a hopper or other storage area for materials. This area is filled with recyclable material over the course of several hours or days. The baler then compresses the material into a solid block that is easily stored and transported. Some bales will retain a shape because of the pressure used to form the block. Others require some type of cord or tie in order to keep the bundle together. Some balers automatically tie bundles while others require operators to manually place ties on the bale. Balers are most often used with cardboard, paper and aluminum.

Compactors
Compactors are very popular pieces of equipment in industrial facilities and in locations with a high amount of recyclable waste such as a university. A compactor can be permanently mounted in a single location or can be mobile. Mobile compactors resemble shipping containers. Recyclable waste is loaded into one side of the compactor or into a special bin. The machine uses powerful pneumatic, hydraulic or electrical parts to press the waste towards the back of the container. The result is that waste is crushed. This reduces the amount of air between items and makes it easier to transport large loads. Compactors can be used for anything from wood and paper to steel and automobiles.

Shredders And Grinders
Shredders and grinders are used to handle some of the most difficult types of materials. These machines use long cylinders that are studded with blades, spikes or interlaced cylinders in order to break apart different materials. Some machines can have up to five of these cylinders. Materials are dropped into the cylinders where they are crushed by pressure and slowly reduced in size by the studs or blades. Some of the largest shredders can handle incredibly high volumes of materials every minute. Shredders reduce materials to small pieces that are manageable or directly usable as another product like mulch. Shredders are used to recycle tires, wood, metal and plastics.
